Back to Europe

Man a lot has happened in the relatively few months since I was last in Europe. We have a new president, I have a new girlfriend and the blog will have some new entries well before I pictured updating this with anything.

Trisha won a scholarship to study at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain starting July 12th. We leave tomorrow for an itinerary that looks like this:

July 4th - London (arrive)
July 5th - London
July 6th - London-> Bilbao -> La Guardia
July 7th - La Guardia
July 8th - Bus to La Coruna
July 9th - July 12th Walking to Santiago
July 13th - 16th ?
July 17th - Return home

Oh and if you think it is ridiculous that I have made two trips to Europe within 6 months, I got another one planned in October for the weekend. Yup you read correctly. Delta had a sale where they forgot or "forgot" not sure which, the fuel surcharge. For 212 USD we are going back to Madrid!

Hey Joey and Trisha,

Have a wonderful trip through Celtic Spain. The weather should be awesome and the scenery sensational as well. Galicia even has a few fjord-like inlets along the coastline. The camino will be a very different experience. Take time to think of all who came before you along the way.

Be extra careful with swine-flu conditions over there (especially in London).

Safe trip to you both and happy trails.

Joey, I expect at least one incredibly clever and original blog entry - something that makes "Aristotle-contemplating-the-home-of-Buster" look like a typical Keith Olbermann observation.

Abur.

That last part adds a lot of pressure. Sort of reminds me of a certain young baseball play-by-play announcer in 1992 who turns to his colleague in the broadcast booth and says "Now, we go to Fred-the-human-joke-machine Migliorini. Say something funny, Mr. Fred."

Congratulations! In our household your surprise trip knocked the news of the Palin Implosion right out of the news - for about 30 minutes.

Have fun.

Tia is jealous.

I am, I am!"I want to go tooooooo!" as Emily used to say. I'll be interested to see what you think of the Camino; it is still on my list of things to do. Where is La Guardia? Please don't say Queens, NY. Have a great trip!
Love, Tia

Hey guys,

Even though the rainfall in Galicia is supposed to be minimal in July, you might want to keep an eye on the forecasts and perhaps get yourselves some light ponchos, cause walking in the rain is not as glamorous as Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds made it out to be. After a few downpours on the camino, the only thing you'll be singing is "the blues."
